Have a good time.

What is ChatGPT?

“ChatGPT is a language model trained by OpenAI. He was trained using a large amount of text from the internet and is able to generate text similar to how a human would. It can be used for tasks like generating descriptive text, answering questions, and talking to people.”

Microsoft and ChatGPT

Satya Nadella, SEO at Microsoft, the company that has invested the most in OpenAI, talks about the expansion of AI tools, growth and capacity of ChatGPT to the Wall Street Journal at the World Economic Forum 2023, published on 17/01/2023 .

Leonardo Cesar Negrao founder of Eco Webdesign, did a review on Satya's interview in our group that I will share.

“The CEO of Microsoft, according to many, the best to date, saw in GPT chat the most amazing thing since the computing revolution that he saw in India and he saw that he had to be part of it.

According to him, 80% of the codes generated in MS by its engineers are from the co-pilot (AI from Github) and they already have Azure AI, but when looking at the improvement graph from previous versions to the current one, it is impossible to just look and not participate.

He thinks of a future like AI helping in all factors of society and in a very positive way, it will be common to have an AI helper and common AI as a member of a team, for example. It is yet another technological revolution in which we have to get used to and who is smart, participate.

This CEO brought Edge (the current CEO of Google was the one who gave the idea to build Chrome), brought a huge revolution to XBox with subscriptions, brought MS with Azure to the top of the cloud, put MS at the forefront of software for developers with Visual Studio Code, Github and, according to him, the next leap is in this AI to maximize people's potential and help solve problems that only man + machine together can solve.

Among many subjects, he answers about moral issues, AI taking people's jobs and everything else in an elegant way hehehe… gives many examples of his poor childhood in India and the need to read opportunities well and how technology can help people to have access and a better life.”

Making a small addendum, Satya also talks about the current economic situation in the world with high inflation, and believes that with AI it will be possible to do more with fewer resources and cheaper.

See the interview in full below.

Artificial intelligence and artists

Gaveta on his channel talks about the controversy of some content creators on the internet about the generation of images by artificial intelligence, in the video he talks about moral issues and the quality of the work delivered. A cool look at artificial intelligence in a creative and design context.

ChatGPT in the Development World

A small reference to the world of development, Quora is a nice place to read interesting things and get insights, last Thursday, Antônio Maniero, Software Engineer and currently MVP at Microsoft, answered a question that reflects well the opinion from Eco.

Is ChatGPT reliable?

"Yes of course.

So am I, so are you, so is anyone or anything. Under certain conditions.

He himself says that he cannot give good answers. He can't help but trust someone so sincere. Most people or places where you get answers to your questions don't usually talk about it. How unreliable is something that looks like it's infallible?

The fact that people ignore and trust the untrusted is another issue and not unique to ChatGPT.

People are dazzled by him just because the intellectual level is so low. Others do it to earn money indirectly, which we call bad faith, although it is often a mix of both.

ChatGPT is more reliable than almost anything you find on social media.

Trust is not binary, it is not 100% or 0%, it has gradations.

On some level he is trustworthy. The question is knowing how to ask the right questions, in the right way and interpret the answers, looking for other sources to confirm or refute your answers, as you should do with anything. And he must do it with diligence and dexterity, which is not easy.

His problem is that people are using it to be more lazy, when in fact he requires the person to do more work. As always it is the wrong use of technology that will create a problem.” Antonio Maniero

Final Words

I see the subject of artificial intelligence today, as controversial as the clone of Dolly the sheep in 1997. Ethical, religious and economic issues are raised based on a feeling of fear that comes from the unknown, I believe it to be a natural and also healthy process, because it will make society debate the subject more and with that make technology adjust to serve the largest number of tribes.
